WCD Community Closet
Providing New & Gently Used Clothing & Shoes at No Cost to Families in Need
Want to help? This is a community effort and we welcome you to jump in and volunteer as well as donate your children's clothing as they outgrow their garments. What an easy way to bless another child! Cash donations will assist in keeping our doors open as well as purchasing new underwear, socks, clothing, shoes & backpacks.
We will gratefully accept gently used (and new):
Young boys/girls clothing sizes 5T-16
Young boys/girls shoes
Young men/women clothing (teen sizes/styles)
New backpacks & school supplies
New socks and underwear
Please make sure that used donated clothing/shoes are free of stains and rips and are in good condition. We are unable to accept used socks/underwear, swimwear, pajamas, toys, books.
Families with children ages 0-18 may select five sets of clothing per child every three months – at no cost. Shoes, socks, and underwear are also available. High chairs, cribs and baby bath tubs can be loaned out. The community closet is open on Thursdays from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon and is manned by volunteers. If you would like to volunteer or donate clean, usable clothing, please call the Early Bird Kiwanis at (941) 429-1235 or North Port Social Services at (941) 429-3700.
